Krillion Rare Answers: Tips for Thinking Deeper

A strong answer starts with the question. These habits can help you look past obvious responses while staying accurate.

Start with correctness

Identify the category and every qualifier. A specific answer is useful only if it really belongs in the set requested by the prompt.

If the question excludes a common subgroup, check your candidate against that exclusion before submitting.

Move past the first association

Your first thought may also occur to many other people. Consider a less familiar but recognisable example, a narrower subcategory or an alternative context.

The official FAQ calls a go-to obscure-seeming choice “Too Clever”. Trying to be obscure does not automatically make a response rare.

Choose a defensible answer

Use answers you can explain rather than inventing names. When choosing between two candidates, a slightly more familiar answer that clearly fits may be more reliable than an uncertain one.

The official FAQ notes that the creator combines sources into answer sets, and a valid answer can still be missing.

Understand the Krillion

The creator says the Krillion answer is not selected by rarity alone. Satisfying and discoverable choices matter too, so the rarest imaginable answer is not guaranteed to receive that distinction.

Learn from autocorrect

Accepted entries can have aliases. The FAQ says autocorrect considers those aliases, which sometimes leads to unexpected matches. Use clear spelling and check what the game understood.
